Universidad CEU Cardinal Herrera is a private university in Valencia, Spain. It is part of the Foundation CEU-Saint Paul which is the biggest educational group in Spain, founded by an organization affiliated with the Catholic Church, The Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP).It includes two other universities: University CEU-Saint Paul in Madrid and CEU-Abbot Oliba in Barcelona, many primary and secondary schools, and different centres of study (MBA, Senior University, etc). CEU stands for Centro de Estudios Universitarios, which means University Studies Centre.
In 1971 the first private school of Law was founded in Valencia and in 2001 it was renamed “University CEU-Cardinal Herrera”. There are two campuses: in Moncada, a village 12 km from Valencia, and in Elche, a city in Alicante.
The University has three Schools: Social Sciences, Experimental Sciences and Technical. In the first, students can learn Politics, Journalism and Law. In the second, they study Chemistry, Veterinary Medicine and Nursing. Finally, in the third, they study Architecture, Design and Computer Engineering.
At the moment, there are 10,000 students in the University from all around Spain, especially Valencia, Murcia, Majorca, Ibiza, and Albacete. Every year 500 students from other countries come to study at the University with the European Programme “Erasmus”.
